Training for Trail Information Specialists 11/17/2021

 

Please join SCCA with our partners from Canyons of the Ancients National Monument for an on-the-ground training for Trail Information Specialist volunteers on Wednesday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center.

WHERE: MEET AT THE CANYONS OF THE ANCIENTS NATIONAL MONUMENT VISITOR CENTER IN THE PLAZA

We welcome all interested and active volunteers to attend this in-person outdoor training opportunity. Come on out to the CANM Visitor Center and Dominguez and Escalante Pueblos to learn more about the Trail Information Specialist program from Sarah Schapira, CANM Outdoor Recreation Planner. Meet Anna Arsic, Visitor Center Manager who recently began her duties at CANM. Take an interpretive walk to the Dominguez and Escalante Pueblos led by CANM Archaeologist Vince MacMillan.

Find out more about the Trail Information Specialist program and how to become a TIS volunteer in popular locations throughout the Monument such as the Visitor Center and Museum, Lower Sand Canyon and Rock Creek Trails, Sand Canyon Pueblo, Painted Hand Pueblo, and Lowry Pueblo. Upcoming training opportunities for TIS volunteers will be discussed. Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday the 17th!
