Join Us for National Public Lands Day at Canyons of the Ancients!
Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance (SCCA) is excited to invite you to our National Public Lands Day event on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In partnership with Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and the Bureau of Land Management, this year’s project will focus on removing unauthorized fire rings at Big Point. This work supports the Monument’s new supplementary rules that aim to better protect sensitive cultural sites and natural resources. With your help, we can reduce impacts to the landscape and promote sustainable, low-impact recreation for future visitors.
All are welcome! We’ll provide tools, rubber gloves, and light refreshments—just bring your water bottle, sun protection, sturdy shoes, (better gloves), and enthusiasm to give back to your public lands. We’ll meet at Sand Canyon Pueblo for a brief introduction and safety talk and then caravan to Big Point.

If you’re unable to attend but still want to make a difference, please consider supporting our work by donating to our Summer Campaign. Your gift helps fund stewardship programs, public education, and events like this one that directly benefit Canyons of the Ancients.
Thank you for being part of this community of public lands stewards—we can’t wait to see you out there!
