Join us Tuesday, July 8 at 4:00 PM at the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center & Museum for an afternoon of discovery with Dr. Jonathan Dombrosky, Environmental Archaeologist at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.

Through three years of research at the Haynie site—part of the Northern Chaco Outliers Project—Dr. Dombrosky has uncovered fascinating insights into how Ancestral Pueblo communities interacted with animals in their environment. From bison to wolves, the animal remains found at this important Chacoan site tell stories of foodways, ritual, and daily life in the Mesa Verde region.

This talk will weave together archaeology, ecology, and Indigenous history to highlight how zooarchaeological research helps us better understand the resilience and complexity of past Pueblo lifeways.
