Join us for an evening under the stars as part of the Four Corners Lecture Series! Local photographer and Durango Photography Club member Kurt Hillman will lead an engaging session on how to capture the beauty of the night sky. This beginner-friendly presentation focuses on photographing the Milky Way and star trails using wide-angle lenses and straightforward techniques.

Kurt will share essential tips on camera settings, composition, and the gear needed for stunning night photography. Whether you’re completely new to astrophotography or looking to refine your skills, this is a perfect opportunity to learn in a supportive, hands-on environment.

✨ Night Photography Equipment List:
To make the most of the session, participants are encouraged to bring:

  • Camera: Ideally a full-frame DSLR or mirrorless

  • Lens: Wide angle (14–20mm) with f/2.8 or faster (f/4 works for star trails)

  • Tripod: Sturdy enough for long exposures

  • Battery: Fully charged

  • Light: Adjustable intensity headlamp or penlight

Why attend? This workshop is a great way to prepare for our Star Party on September 19, where you can put your new skills to the test under some of the darkest skies in the region.
