We promise to use your gift to make the greatest impact possible. If the need has been met for the gift you select, your donation will be used for similar programs. All gifts are tax-deductible and you will receive a receipt for your contribution.
#1 Improve Cultural Site Protection
Your gift helps to train volunteer site stewards to monitor cultural heritage sites for damages and changes over time. These activities provide Land Managers with an enhanced level of understanding of current site conditions and potential threats, which helps to inform important decision making and action to preserve and defend sensitive sites.

#2 Achieve International Dark Sky Park Certification
Your gift helps provide night sky programming that is required for achieving International Dark Sky Park certification. Indigenous presenters and astronomy experts will be invited to provide opportunities for participants to experience the night sky. Supplies include star charts, flashlights, glowsticks, etc.

#3 Keep the Monument Clean & Beautiful
Your gift provides support needed for volunteer stewardship opportunities including recruiting volunteers, organizing events, and provide materials and food for the event. Service projects bring volunteers to work on public lands, performing valuable hands-on activities like trash pickup, trail and fence construction and maintenance, etc. Events include but are not limited to Earth Day, National Trails Day, and National Public Lands Day.

#4 Educate the Public
Your gift helps bring students to Canyons of the Ancients National Monument to experience and learn about the natural and cultural treasures it holds. Outdoor classroom experiences teach about high desert life, wildlife, botany, water, archaeology, etc. Educators will receive training prior to providing outdoor classroom experiences. Transportation will be provided for students and teachers.
