Cultural Site Stewardship Program Training

Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance (SCCA) manages the Cultural Site Stewardship Program in cooperation with our partners at Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. If you are interested in becoming a Cultural Site Steward please click here for a link to complete an online Site Steward Questionnaire. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until March 1st. Openings for new volunteers for this program are limited. Please complete the questionnaire so we can save a site for you to monitor. The following trainings are scheduled to take place online using Zoom:

Monday, March 21, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ~Training for ALL 2022 Cultural Site Stewards. This session reviews the history, purpose, and logistics for the program, as well as information from the Monument’s law enforcement officer and archaeologist.

An invitation to current Site Stewards to join us on a field trip on Monday, March 14th has been sent to site stewards. Registration for this field trip begins on February 28. Please be sure to email Diane McBride at diane.scca@gmail.com to register.
